MANILA, Philippines – It seems like yesterday when a 14-year-old Maja Salvador appeared on “The Buzz” to express how much she wants to see her biological father.
But who would have thought that only a few years after that television appearance, Salvador would be a household name with two Best Actress awards to her credit.
Salvador was also able to save up for her big investment -- a house -- which she really worked hard for for her family.
In the October 2012 issue of StarStudio Magazine, Salvador opened the doors to her Antipolo home for the first time.
Knowing the difficulty of constantly moving houses while growing up, Salvador said she did not hesitate to buy the house for her mother Thelma and her younger brother Kirby.
Noong nag-umpisa ako dito sa showbiz, gusto kong makaipon, gusto kong yumaman,” she said.
Ngayon, may sarili na kaming bahay,” Salvador added.
Salvador shared it was her mother who first fell in love with the house.
“Mommy ko ang nag-decide bilihin. Na-in love siya agad sa bahay. Nag-agree naman ako kasi tama lang ang size at sobrang homey,” she said.
Residing in their two-storey, three-bedroom house in a premier subdivision in Antipolo for three years now, Salvador’s mom said she really convinced her daughter to buy the house.
As for Salvador, seeing their new home makes her want to work even harder.
Salvador also recounts her humble beginnings and talks about her biological father, her ups and downs and her dreams in the October 2012 issue of ABS-CBN Publishing's StarStudio Magazine.
