MANILA, Philippines – Jaguar Cars Philippines unveiled the Jaguar XKR-S on Thursday at the Resorts World Manila in Pasay City.

Dubbed as Jaguar’s “first supercar” in production, the XKR-S can go from 0-96.5 kilometers per hour (km/h) in 4.2 seconds.

Jaguar Cars Philippines President Wellington Soong kicked off the media launch of the sports car held at the Opus Restaurant and Lounge.

Soong described the XKR-S as “the most exciting sports car” that Jaguar has ever produced.

Soong also said the XKR-S is the “most responsive, agile, and driver-focused car that Jaguar has ever built.”

Soong’s son Mark, who is Jaguar Philippines’ executive director, was also present at the launch and led the media and several sports car enthusiasts to nearby Republiq Club, where a white XKR-S was unveiled.

The vehicle marks Jaguar’s entry into the exclusive “300 km/h club” with its 510-horsepower supercharged third generation V8 engine.

The XKR-S also boasts of environment-friendly features, being the only car in its class to emit less than 300g of carbon dioxide per kilometer.

It has been named the “Most Desirable Super Car of 2012” in Mumbai and last year’s “Sports Car of the Year” in Auto Bild Sportscars.
