MANILA, Philippines - Think you're all set for the University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) men's basketball finals?
Here's something to add fuel to your burning school passion -- replica game jackets, jerseys, shorts and t-shirts as showcased during on and off court performances by the Ateneo de Manila Blue Eagles and Far Eastern University (FEU) Tamaraws.
The collection, recently launched by Nike, is in line with the brand's "New Breed, New Game, New Legacy" basketball campaign.
The game jerseys boast of a technical burn-out mesh fabric for increased ventilation.
According to Nike, this also helps reduce the fabric weight to help athletes drive their game further without weighing them down.
"Nike recognizes the intensity and passion of young athletes and basketball enthusiasts during collegiate basketball season," said Mae Dichupa, Nike Philippines country marketing manager.
She continued, "Our UAAP apparel collection aims to deliver the best basketball performance technology while boosting school pride and driving school spirit for an unforgettable basketball experience."
The UAAP apparel collection is sold in select Nike stores, and are priced from P1,095 to P3,295.
Ateneo and FEU are set to compete for the UAAP Season 73 men's basketball championship on Saturday, September 25 at the Araneta Coliseum in Cubao, Quezon City.
An analyst earlier predicted that FEU, the No. 1 seed this season, will win Game 1 versus 2-time defending champion Ateneo.
The UAAP finals will be aired live over ABS-CBN's channel 2 and Balls HD 167 on Saturday at 4 p.m.
