MANILA, Philippines – Lenovo Philippines on Wednesday launched its newest IdeaPads which aim to bridge the gap between the no-frills netbook computers and the traditional laptops.

The computer-maker’s IdeaPads S300 and S400 are positioned as “affordable thin and light” for consumers who want more computing power than a netbook and longer battery life than the traditional laptop and with a much lower price point.

“Lenovo believes in offering a balanced product portfolio that appeal to our customers’ needs and preferences. The new IdeaPad S300 and S400 offer consumers more than just functionality. They’re small and lightweight with the power that allows them to do everything from web browsing to productivity tasks, all at an affordable package,” said Vicky Agorrilla, country general manager of Lenovo Philippines:

The S300 and S400 are less than an inch thick -- 21.9mm thin to be exact -- with each weighing only 1.8kgs.

They come with a smooth metallic finish and in a variety of colors – cotton-candy pink and silver grey for the IdeaPad S300 and crimson red and silver grey for the IdeaPad S400.

Both offer features for entertainment and multimedia activities such as a 14-inch HD widescreen display for S400 and 13.3-inch for S300, HDMI output, 3 megapixel web camera and stereo speakers.

The IdeaPad S300 is powered by Intel Pentium processor, while the S400 is powered by third-generation Intel Core i3 processor to deliver “mainstream” performance.

Users will also be able to maximize the storage space as both models come equipped with up to 500GB hard disk storage capacity.

The S300 and S400 also feature an intelligent touchpad that gives users a more controlled experience when scrolling and zooming, while the AccuType keyboard with individual rounded keys provides a platform for comfortable and accurate typing.

Users can also take advantage of features such as Lenovo Quick Start “instant on” functionality to get online in seconds. Even data protection is made easy with Lenovo’s OneKey Rescue System, which offers a simple and quick way to back up and restore data, recover corrupted system files and run a complete virus scan.

The Lenovo IdeaPad S300 is priced at P21,995 while the IdeaPad S400 is priced at P24,995. Both laptops will be available by third week of September.
