MANILA, Philippines – Exactly a month after his untimely death, the late Interior and Local Government Secretary Jesse Robredo made his presence felt to his family in the form of a “surprise gift.”

Robredo got tickets to the Maroon 5 concert tonight at the Smart Araneta Coliseum for his family, according to his eldest daughter Aika.

“Papa planned to surprise us with Maroon 5 concert tickets. Got the tickets from the staff just now,” she said on Twitter.

Several Filipino Internet users, among them celebrity and lawmaker Lucy Torres Gomez, were touched by Robredo’s gesture.

“Awwww, that is so sweet. That must feel like a hug from heaven. God bless you all,” Gomez told Aika.

“May you all continue to feel him in random days and ways,” she added.

ABS-CBN anchor Karen Davila, for her part, tweeted: “Wow! How thoughtful!”

Robredo, who died in a plane crash last August 18, has been described as a regular husband and father who wanted to come home to his family every weekend and be hands-on when it comes to doing household chores.

His widow, Atty. Leni Robredo, earlier said her husband also made it a point to reach out to her despite his very busy schedule as a government official.
