MANILA, Philippines -- Taking its cue from the worldwide "Gangnam Style" fever, a music video starring the Philippine Volcanoes' Eric Tai and a number of Pinoy celebrities has gone viral online.
Titled "Gangnam Style - Pinoy Style," the spoof video was posted on video-sharing site YouTube on Thursday.
Inspired by the music video for the Korean international hit, "It's Showtime" host Eric "Eruption" Tai is seen dancing "gangnam style" in various locations in the metro, with a number of celebrities even joining the dancer-host.
Seen going "gangnam" in the Derek Wanner-directed music video are comedian-host Ryan Bang, "It's Showtime" host Jugs Jugueta, ABS-CBN correspondents Gretchen Fullido and Ginger Conejero, singer-host Billy Crawford and actor-singer Young JV.
Also seen in the four-minute video are actress-host Anne Curtis, actress Megan Young, TV host Rovilson Fernandez, singer-host Randy Santiago, balladeer Christian Bautista, Kapamilya host Coleen Garcia and "Pinoy Big Brother" winner Slater Young.
Released in July 2012, Korean rapper Psy's "Gangnam Style" has charted internationally, and has been the subject of various parodies online.
Due to its impact, many international performing acts have also taken on "Gangnam Style" as a dance craze. Most recently, popstar Britney Spears danced to the K-pop single, as she was taught by Psy himself on American talk show "Ellen."
