MANILA, Philippines – A 40-year-old fashion designer from Tokyo, Japan showed off his mohawk at a New York City park on Wednesday 9Thursday in Manila) to launch the 2013 Guinness Book of World Records.
The mohawk of Japanese designer Kazuhiro Watanabe holds the Guinness world record for “tallest mohawk,” previously held by Germany’s Stefan Srocka.
Watanabe’s mohawk was measured at 3 feet and 8.6 inches, or 1.13 meters high.
He said it took him 15 years to grow it out.
Watanabe, who has held the title since 2011, made an appearance at Washington Square Park in New York to promote the latest Guinness World Records book, which will include him for the first time.
