MANILA -- Actress and fashion it-girl Solenn Heussaff would rather spend her money on travels than on shopping sprees. As a goal, she plans to visit a new country each year so that her age should always match the number of countries she's gone to.
Among the many countries she visited are Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, New Zealand, China, Hong Kong, Tahiti, Austria, Uruguay, and Switzerland.
Having been to 34 countries already (that's more than her actual age!), Heussaff considers France, Hong Kong and Japan to be the best countries to be fashionable, noting the different fashion styles ingrained in each country's culture.
"A lot of my friends think that if it' Paris, they have to bring a lot of their fasyon items, but a real Parisian woman is just in shirt, sneakers, messy hair tied up, and running mascara, unless it
s in the business area," she said.
For Metro Magazine's Fashion Issue, Heussaff strutted her stuff in Belgium, with the cities of Brussels, Bruges and Antwerp serving as dramatic backdrops for the high fashion shoot. The Metro team made sure to capture the chic sophistication of these fashion capitals, taking her to both touristy places like the Brussels Gran Place, and to more unconventional ones like the Schoonselhof cemetery.
"It was fun since the shoot was done very early in the morning. We were done by 10 a.m. and we got to tour the area. If we saw something new or special, we try to take extra shots. We'll all be game to do it so I'll retouch and dress up in the car. It was fun and easygoing. I got to be a tourist at the same time," Heussaff shared.
