Bensimon sneakers

A brand that claims to represent the Parisian aesthetic, Bensimon offers different types of sneakers that can be easily turned into one’s own canvas.

And to prove this, Bensimon recently held a DIY event at the Common Thread store at Power Plant Mall in Makati, where participants were able to express their creativity and fashion inclinations using paint, glitters, markers, stamps, bleach and ribbons.

Model Maggie Wilson, for instance, decided to have a black and white custom pair.

“I started with a white canvas and decided to do little black speckles and then I did a little piping detail,” she said.

TV host Karen Pamintuan, for her part, prefers to keep things simple. “I guess you could say it’s a reflection of my fashion personality. Simple, understated, pretty comfy,” she said.

Bensimon sneakers are available at Common Thread, Rustan’s, Center of Gravity, Shoe Salon and Shoe Thing, with prices from P2,095 to P2,565.

Adidas ZX Flux

Those who are not into customizing their own shoes can grab a pair of the colorfully designed ZX Flux Print Pack from Adidas, which features a digitally printed upper.

The Print Pack comes in two designs – leopard print with bold berry accents, and a contemporary rush of watercolor paint with black stripes and white tooling.

The ZF Flux Base Tone, on the other hand, is ideal for those who are into shoes of a single hue. Inspired by the ZX 8000 trainers, the shoes feature a bright red or a cobalt blue palette.

Meanwhile, the ZX Reflective Snake Print Pack creates a “reptilian” effect by using a snakeskin print with neon details. Its upper features three layers: a synthetic base, a reflective print and a mesh overlay, giving it a slightly muted yet texturized feel.
