MANILA, Philippines – Kapamilya stars Kim Chiu, Erich Gonzales and Jessy Mendiola gave ABS-CBN News a sneak peek at what they will wear for this year’s Star Magic Ball.

Chiu will wear a white long tube gown designed by Edwin Tan to the Star Magic Ball, which she describes as the “JS Prom” of actors and actresses.

“Gusto ko white, gustong-gusto ko talaga white. Tapos parang simple lang siya ngayon, hindi sobrang laki like last year,” said Chiu, who won the "Drop-dead Stunner" award at the Star Magic Ball last year.

“Pang-six po ata o pang-five [ko na ito na Star Magic Ball],” she added.

When asked if she already has a date to the ball, Chiu said: “Wala pang nagtatanong. ...Basta, abangan na lang po nila kung meron man o wala.”

Like Chiu, Mendiola will wear a white backless gown to the Star Magic Ball.

“This year, gusto ko lang to look my age. I’m 19, so gusto ko magmukhang sweet naman,” the actress said of her new gown, which will feature lace and Swarovski crystals.

Mendiola wore a sexy black gown by Pepito Albert at last year’s event. She didn't mention the designer who will create her gown this year.

Gonzales, meanwhile, wants to look simple and elegant in this year’s Star Magic Ball as she tapped Francis Libiran, who has designed gowns for Tyra Banks and the contestants on her show, “America’s Next Top Model.”

The actress will wear a black backless dress with a see-through bottom to the Kapamilya event.

“I asked him basta simple and elegant as much as possible. Basta very clean lang. I trust him naman,” Gonzales said of Libiran, who will also dress up Sam Milby, Jake Cuenca, Richard Poon, Matteo Guidicelli, Slater Young and Gretchen Fullido in this year’s Star Magic Ball.

Gonzales, who wore a red gown by Nat Manilag last year, said she will have no date in the upcoming Star Magic Ball.

“This year, me, myself and I,” she said. “Wala naman, okay lang para maiba naman.”
