MANILA – It’s official: The live action movie adaptation of the hit manga and anime series “Lupin III” will be screened here next month.
SM Cinema announced on its Facebook page on Thursday that it will screen “Lupin III” starting September 17 as it uploaded a trailer for the movie, which follows the escapades of a master thief.
Another live action film based on a popular manga and anime series, “Rurouni Kenshin: Kyoto Inferno,” hit cinemas nationwide on Wednesday.
“Lupin III” will be released in Japan on August 30. Playing the titular role is Shun Oguri, who is known to many for his portrayal of Rui Hanazawa in the Japanese drama “Boys Over Flowers.”
His nemesis, Michael Lee, is played by Jerry Yan, who is popular in the Philippines for his role as Dao Ming Si in the Taiwanese series “Meteor Garden.”
