MANILA, Philippines -- A Twitter user who runs a parody account of actress-host Kris Aquino agreed to change his handle upon the celebrity's request.

On Sunday night, Aquino appealed to @KrisaQuinoSTD to change her name and profile picture.

"I realize this is a PARODY account but would it be possible for you to just use your own contact profile pic and not mine?" Aquino said in her tweet to @KrisaQuinoSTD, who agreed to change the handle to @krizzy_kalerQUI.

"Also, my past is an open book but I have two sons who continue to inspire me to be a good mother and a better person," Aquino told the user, referring to her controversial relationship with actor Joey Marquez.

In 2003, Aquino shocked the nation when she revealed in a live TV interview that she previously acquired a sexually transmitted disease or STD from Marquez.

On Monday, Aquino told her Twitter followers that she is "happy" that the owner of the parody account agreed to her request.

"Happy he listened and pwedeng mapagusapan ang lahat ng bagay peacefully," she said.

The owner of the parody account admitted to being overwhelmed about getting tweets from Aquino and agreed to the actress' request.

"OK... since new na rin ang name mo sa Twitter, will change mine at 12 midnight. Love yew!" the Twitter user told Aquino.

Aquino told krizzy_kalerQUI she has finally moved on and is trying her best to live life without hurting anyone.

She also said she wants to meet the anonymous Twitter user "so you'll see I'm a real person."

"Marami ka ng followers. Sana you can drop my name na from your Twitter name. Please?" Aquino told the Twitter user.

Aquino also stressed that she is not trying to pick a fight on social media.

"Hindi masama for me to reach out and appeal to your heart's goodness to please change your Twitter name and contact pic," the actress said.

"'Di ako nangaway. Nagpapakadisente sa pakiusap na mamuhay tayong lahat na walang inaapakan o sinasaktan," she added.

Aquino's followers on Twitter told her to just ignore the parody account but the actress stressed she is doing this for her sons.

"I am Josh and Bimb's mother. Raising them on my own. May pinapalagpas, may dapat ipaglaban... I want my sons to be proud of what their mother has achieved, how I managed to right my wrongs and prioritize my sons' well being above everything else," Aquino explained to her followers.

"'Di po ako pikon. Pero masakit din naman na sa pangalan pa lang binababoy na ako," she said.
