MANILA, Philippines - Filipino boxing champ and now Sarangani Rep. Manny Pacquiao and former Wowowee host Willie Revillame hogged the Google searches of netizens in the country for the week of August 6 to 12, according to Google Zeitgeist.

Both made headlines in the past week, with Pacquiao planning to train at the Batasang Pambansa complex for his upcoming fight with Antonio Margarito.

He dropped the plan, though, after House Speaker Feliciano "Sonny" Belmonte Jr. said it was not a good idea.

Revillame, meanwhile, earlier announced that he is leaving ABS-CBN despite his existing contract obligations with the network, claiming unfair treatment.

In particular, he cried foul over the management's move to withdraw from a reported initial agreement that he would return to noontime show Wowowee on July 31.

Days before July 31, ABS-CBN announced that Wowowee would be replaced by a new game and variety show titled Pilipinas Win the Win and that Revillame would be given a new program.

Other top searches in the week include sports and athletes, celebrities, television shows and new gadgets.
