MANILA, Philippines – The good news: it is true that the iconic Filipino band The Eraserheads will be having another reunion this year.
The bad news, at least for those in the Philippines, is that it won’t be in Manila.
A poster announcing a reunion concert of The Eraserheads at the Araneta Coliseum on December 1, 2012, which quickly spread among netizens, is not true, according to former Eraserheads frontman Ely Buendia.
On his official Twitter account, Buendia was asked if the poster was official, and his team replied, “Nope.”
"Clarification: Ely no longer maintains this account. Our team will gladly field your questions and inquiries. He thanks his followers," it added.
Another tweet said: “For everyone asking: The December Eheads concert is a HOAX. We repeat, a HOAX. Not true.”
But Buendia, Raimund Marasigan, Marcus Adoro and Buddy Zabala will have a reunion tour in North America later this year, according to the former Eraserheads frontman's Twitter account.
“The only concert the Eheads will be performing in is their North American Tour this October."
According to the official Facebook fan page of the reunion tour, the quartet will perform at The Regency Ballroom in San Francisco on October 12, the Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles on October 13, Kool Haus in Toronto, Canada on October 19, and a yet-to-be-announced venue in New York City on October 20.
The last time The Eraserheads performed together in a concert was at the SM Mall of Asia concert grounds on March 7, 2009 for the reunion concert dubbed "The Final Set."
