In an article published by The Mind Unleashed on July 21, the crater lake of Mount Pinatubo in Pampanga was listed third, while the crater lake of Taal Volcano in Batangas was listed eighth.
First on the list of the most beautiful crater lakes is the crater lake of Mount Mazama in Oregon, USA, followed by the crater lake in Albertine Rift in Africa.
The other countries on the list are Japan, Cambodia, Indonesia, New Zealand, Sudan, Iceland, Chile, Ecuador, China and North Korea.
Crater lakes can be formed either through a meteorite crash or man-made explosion, but most crater lakes are formed through volcanic activity.
The crater lake in Mt. Pinatubo, also known as Lake Pinatubo, was believed to to have been formed prior to its 1991 eruption, but it was only after 1991 that residents became more aware of it.
Taal Volcano is a complex volcano, with a lake surrounding it, and a lake within its crater. It is the second most active volcano in the country, and is also considered one of the most attractive in the Philippines.
