MANILA – Singer Mark Bautista is set to play to play the role of the late President Ferdinand Marcos in the London run of the musical “Here Lies Love,” according to a report.
Citing an article by The Daily Mail, BroadwayWorld.com reported that Bautista will act opposite Natalie Mendoza, who will take on the role of Imelda Marcos.
Dean John-Wilson, meanwhile, will play the role of Marcos’ late political rival Ninoy Aquino, father of current President Benigno Aquino III.
Also included in the London cast are Gia Macuja Atchison, Frances Mayli McCann and Li-Tong Hsu.
According to BroadwayWorld.com, “Here Lies Love” will run from September 30 to January 8 at the National’s Dorfman Theatre.
Described as an “off-Broadway show,” “Here Lies Love” tackles the rise and fall of former First Lady Imelda Marcos.
