‘Circle of Love’ anniversary party
The Love Yourself Project, an advocacy group that aims to prevent the spread of HIV/AIDS, will celebrate its first anniversary with a series of performances on Saturday, July 21 at Bed Manila.
Billed as “Circle of Love,” the event will include a performance from Rye Bautista, also known as La Chiquitta, a drag performer in Hong Kong who used to be part of Ballet Philippines.
It will also feature the Hotlegs, Drag-ons and actress Beverly Salviejo.

This year’s Cinemalaya Independent Film Festival and Competition will open tonight (Friday) with a film by Mario O’Hara as a tribute to the late director, screenwriter and actor.
Now on its eighth year, the festival will run until July 29 at the Cultural Center of the Philippines and at the Greenbelt and Trinoma malls.
Among the films featured in this year’s Cinemalaya are “Kamera Obskura” by award-winning filmmaker Raymond Red, which stars Pen Medina, and “Santa Niña” topbilled by “Walang Hanggan” star Coco Martin.

Sarah Geronimo’s ‘24/SG’
Pop Star Princess Sarah Geronimo will hold a repeat concert at the Smart Araneta Coliseum this Saturday, July 21.
Billed as “24/SG,” the birthday concert promises to show a “bolder, stronger and braver” Geronimo.

‘God of Carnage’
“God of Carnage,” an expletive-laced comedy starring Tony Award-winning actress Lea Salonga, will have its final run at the Carlos P. Romulo Auditorium at the RCBC Plaza in Makati this weekend.
In the play, Salonga plays the role of an angry wife to Singaporean actor Adrian Pang. The other two actors in “God of Carnage” include Menchu Lauchengco-Yulo and “The Kitchen Musical” star Art Acuña, who also act as a couple.

‘Joe: A Filipino Rock’sical’
After its production about former President Corazon Aquino, the Philippine Stagers Foundation (PSF) is at it again with a modern take on national hero Jose Rizal.
“Joe: A Filipino Rock’sical” is an attempt by PSF to make Rizal more relevant to the youth, the group said in a statement. It opened last July 14 and runs every weekend until June 22 at St. Scholastica’s College in Malate.
On June 29, the show will be held at Tanghalang Pasigueño.

‘Asian Air Safari’ Season 7
The seventh season of ANC’s flying adventure and travel show “Asian Air Safari” will begin on Sunday, July 22.
Here, host and producer Captain Joy Roa will take viewers past popular tourist spots by showing spectacular vistas that can only be seen from the skies.
“Asian Air Safari,” the only aviation and travel-adventure show in Asia, has transported viewers to the most popular and unusual locations in 150 cities in 38 countries for a total of 86 episodes, including the eight new episodes of Season 7.
The show airs every Sunday at 8:30 p.m. on ANC.
Vilma @ 50 on ‘ASAP 2012’
ABS-CBN’s top-rating Sunday musical variety show “ASAP 2012” is set to pay tribute to Star for All Seasons Vilma Santos, who is celebrating her 50th anniversary in showbiz this year.
There will be a string of world-class production numbers led by Gary Valenciano, Martin Nievera, Piolo Pascual, Vina Morales, Christian Bautista, Erik Santos, Angeline Quinto, Jed Madela and Yeng Constantino.
“ASAP 2012” stars Billy Crawford, Nikki Gil, Karylle, Ella Cruz, Paul Salas, Zaijian Jaranilla and Belle Mariano will also perform this Sunday as they relive Santos’ golden years.
There will also be a special production number from Santos’ co-stars in her newest movie “The Healing” – Kim Chiu and Pokwang will perform alongside John Prats, Empress, Sam Concepcion, Bugoy Cariño and Chokoleit.
