MANILA – “Umagang Kay Ganda” host Bianca Gonzalez and food blogger Erwan Heussaff are two of the local guides of Taiwanese-American Janet Hsieh in an episode of the popular “Fun Asia” series on the cable channel TLC.
The one-hour special, titled “Fun Asia: Philippines,” sees Hsieh traveling to Manila, Cebu and Bohol as she strives to know more about the country.
It will premiere on TLC on July 22, Monday, at 10 p.m.
Also serving as Hsieh’s “tour guides” are cultural activist Carlos Celdran and artist and musician Budoy of the Filipino reggae band Junior Kilat.
In the Manila leg of “Fun Asia: Philippines,” Hsieh will visit the San Agustin Church and San Sebastian Basilica, try local dishes such as beef tapa, longganisa and sinigang, go on a shopping spree, and hang out at a nightclub.
In Cebu and Bohol, the Taiwanese-American host will try nature activities such as riding on bamboo rafts and interacting with tarsiers.
