MANILA, Philippines – Two-time NBA Most Valuable Player Steve Nash, who recently joined the Los Angeles Lakers, shows his funny side in a spoof of Batman film “The Dark Knight Rises.”

Here, Nash acts as Batman who underwent an intense workout (which he called “Batsanity) after getting out of shape.

The video was uploaded on YouTube last July 5, when it was reported that Nash will leave the Phoenix Suns for the Los Angeles Lakers.

“The guys never invited me to the bar on Friday night. That was a dark time of my life,” the basketball player said in the parody, imitating the Dark Knight’s voice.

Nash then made an apparent reference to Filipino boxing champ Manny Pacquiao while throwing punches in the air.

“This is how I prepare for the season, Batsanity! Check it out,” he said on his official Facebook page, which is “liked” by nearly two million users.

The 38-year-old Nash was acquired by the Lakers in a sign-and-trade deal with the Suns early this month.

Nash admitted that he never saw himself wearing the Lakers’ purple and gold uniform, but said that he couldn’t pass up a chance to win a championship.

With the deal, he and another former MVP, Kobe Bryant, are now in one team.
