On July 2, 2014, Bocaue's pagoda sailed again for the traditional fluvial parade in honor of the Holy Cross of the River (Pagoda ng Krus ng Wawa). For most of the townspeople, it is a welcome revival of this religious celebration.
Although memories of the pagoda tragedy of July 2, 1993 still come to mind, one can sense optimism in the people of the town. Determined to bring the yearly tradition back to life, the town is making all the effort to ensure that the festival is safe as it is solemn for years to come.
The day started out early for the riverside community as residents prepared for the celebration. Devotees got the chance to redeem this particular day with a new pagoda.
