MANILA, Philippines - As early as 7 a.m., the official stylist and designers of President-elect Benigno "Noynoy" Aquino III arrived in the Aquino residence at No. 25 Times Street, Quezon City.
The staff includes makeup artist Juan Sarte, stylist Liz Uy, and fashion designers Paul Cabral and JC Buendia. They brought the barongs and gowns that will be used by the President-elect and his sisters.
In a message posted in her Twitter account, Uy said it was really peaceful inside the Aquino residence since media people were not allowed.
"No press inside President Noy's place. Very peaceful," Uy said.
"Daming press sa labas pero ganito lang dito sa loob ng Times. Normal lang. JC Buendia just arrived. The team is complete. :-)," Sarte posted in his Twitter page.
Buendia was the one who made the barong of Aquino used during the proclamation at Batasang Pambansa. He also dressed up outgoing President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo.
Aquino was already up at past 5 a.m. to gear up for his much-awaited inauguration.
Meanwhile, outside the Aquinos' house were the President-elect's supporters serenading him. Retired SPO4 Nestor Daracan, former member of the Presidential Security Group of the late President Corazon "Cory" Aquino, belted out a song in front of the Aquino residence.
Residents of Camarin, Caloocan City also serenaded President-elect Aquino. The group traveled all the way from Barangay 174 to sing a song for Noynoy.
"Gusto lang po naming i-mañanita si P-Noy," said Selyn Mangubat, before their group sang Blessed Oathtaking day, their rendition of the traditional birthday song.
