MANILA, Philippines -- Jamba Juice continued is expansion in the Philippines after it opened its latest branch at the SM Mall of Asia on Saturday.
The US-based chain of stores selling healthy blended beverages, juices and snacks now has three branches in the country after Bonifacio High Street, which opened late last year, and Alabang Town Center, which was launched in March.
But unlike its first two outlets, the SM MOA branch, located at the ground floor of the mall's main building beside the SM Ice Skating Rink, is not an enclosed outlet but more of a stall, with only a few chairs and tables.
In a speech, Mark Gamboa, marketing director of Jamba Juice in the Philippines, said the opening of the new branch is part of the company's commitment to expand the availability of the California brand.
"Choosing strategic locations that are convenient for our consumers has always been one of the integral facets that we consider when choosing the best locations for expansion," Sharon Fuentebella, managing director of Jamba Juice's master franchisee in the Philippines, added in a statement released to media.
The company said it is set to expand to 37 more locations within the next 10 years.
For the opening of the SM MOA branch, the company brought back its Gimme Five campaign, which was also held when Jamba Juice opened in Alabang.
Two "blender bikes were set up beside the store as part of Jamba Juice's brand positioning to promote a healthy lifestyle.
Customers who ride the special stationary bikes for five minutes get to donate one mango seedling, which will be planted at the Guimaras Mango Park.
The mango campaign was made through a partnership with the Bureau of Plant Industry - Guimaras National Mango Research and Development Center.
Gamboa added that as part of Jamba Juice's commitment to support the province, it is also donating P5 for every order of its mango-flavored smoothies to Guimaras.
Among these smoothies are Mega Mango, which features mango and strawberry fruits blended with orange and pineapple juices; and Peach Perfection, which includes mangoes, peaches and strawberries blended with peache and apple-strawberry juices.
"Our hope is that locally grown Guimaras mangoes will one day play a larger role in Jamba's smoothie menu," he said.
Through this campaign, Jamba Juice also hopes to highlight Guimaras as a tourist destination where the best mangoes in the country are grown.
"We are hoping to extend our commitment to quality and freshness by promoting and using our very own Guimaras mangoes in the blending of our delectable smoothies," Fuentebella added.
Jamba Juice is already using bananas sourced from the Philippines for its products.
