MANILA – Makati is known for its vibrant food scene, with the city home to fancy restaurants, hole-in-the-wall joints, and everything else in between.
Here are some of the relatively new restaurants in the city that are worth a visit.

Dubbed as “the city’s best pizza” by the esteemed New York Times, Motorino is now serving customers in the Philippines via its branch at the Greenbelt 3 mall.
Here, guests can choose their own toppings which range from onions and cherry tomatoes to sausage, meatballs and Manila clams, or select from the seven set flavors listed on the menu.

One Way Resto

Located in an old building in a one-way street in Legaspi Village, One Way Resto specializes in sourdough pizza and burgers.
In addition to its straightforward menu, the restaurant also adds personal touches such as table-side flambé to create dessert classics like Crepes Suzette and Mango Jubilee.

Tucked away in a hidden corner in Makati City, Pink Panda features twists on Asian favorites such as dumplings, buns, spring rolls, satay and catfish salad.
The concept by food blogger Erwan Heussaff and his partners has an ambience that is hip and urban, with a relaxed casual feel coming from the occasional pink panda toy here and there.

Chef Chris Locher, the man who popularized the “panizza,” returns with the relaxed food concept Recess on Jupiter Street.
The restaurant is decidedly more hip and playful both in terms of look and menu, with Filipino pizza flavors such as beef tapa, pork tocino and smoked bangus.

Located at Alphaland Makati Place, Speakeasy specializes in comfort food and bar fare. Bestsellers here include Spicy Gambas, Gnocchi, Truffle Mac ‘n Cheese, Montecristo and Croque Madame, among others.
At the helm of the restaurant is Chef Mike Santos, who trained under Chef Cyrille Soenen of Brasserie Cicou.

Housed on the third floor of the environment-friendly Zuellig building, Terraz features elegant yet fuss-free dishes that can be enjoyed in hotel-like dining areas and conference rooms.
Some of the dishes here include Salmon Gravlax, French Onion Soup, Prawn Gambas al Ajillo, Crispy Pork Belly and US Beef Garlic Salpicao Skewers, among others.
