MANILA, Philippines – After nine years, acclaimed screenwriter Ricky Lee is resuming his free workshop for those who dream of writing scripts for movies or TV.

The three-month workshop will be led by Lee and a pool of ABS-CBN and Star Cinema writers.

Lee's last workshop was held back in 2003.

Lee wrote the script to such Filipino film classics like "Salome," "Himala," "Brutal" and "Moral." He is also a playwright and a novelist.

Lee said the workshop is open to everyone, including those who do not have experience in writing.

Lee is hoping to mentor budding scriptwriters in this year's workshop and help them reach their full potential in the field of writing.

“Marami interesado sa pagsulat lalo na sa panahon ngayon, text ng text, blog ng blog. Na-empower na kasi tayo ngayon eh. Dati we wait for critics; ngayon you watch a film and you give your review,” said Lee.

Those interested to join the workshop may submit their application form, resume and a sample of a written work or script at the drop box located at the ELJ building of ABS-CBN or check the Star Cinema website at www.starcinema.com.ph.

Deadline of submission of application is on July 6. -- ANC
