MANILA -- Famous celebrity and equestrienne Mikee Cojuangco-Jaworski is set to embark on another journey as the International Olympic Committee’s (IOC) member to the Philippines.
In Metro Society Magazine’s May issue, Mikee shared her excitement and how she will be traveling the world more than she ever has.
“The bigger picture really is what sports can do for us as a nation, as a culture. The aim of the IOC is to teach Olympic values to the world; the Olympic games is THE main product, it’s the showcase of the IOC,” she said.
Unknown to many, Cojuangco-Jaworski financed her own travel for international competitions using earnings from her showbiz stint. She has been to different destinations, from Asia, Australia and Europe.
However, she only has her eyes on the prize. She quipped: “The travel was not a priority, the goal was wanting to win.”
Even as a wife and a mother of three, she manages to juggle her responsibilities. According to her, being a woman of the world means having to live with certainty and a clear sense of who she is as a person, knowing the things that matter and taking opportunities that come her way.
“When you see an opportunity, you should try to see where it takes you, where you can take it, instead of not ever knowing. So many things have happened in my life that I didn’t plan. And I believe that all those things took me somewhere better than the path I was on,” she shared.
