MANILA, Philippines -- Soul Siren Nina said her nearly naked appearance on the cover of men's magazine Playboy Philippines was not meant to create buzz for her upcoming projects.

Nina, who recently signed under talent management firm and production company Viva Entertainment, said she is proud of her daring shoot for the world-famous magazine line, adding that it is her way of "immortalizing" herself in her best shape yet.

"Why not pose for Playboy [now]? Kailan? Habang intact pa every part of my body, habang no sagging here and there, habang hindi pa nire-retoke," she said Thursday.

"Why not immortalize [yourself] in the form of a magazine called Playboy? It's a very prestigious men's magazine, so why not?"

Asked if her appearance on the men's magazine is a way of stirring buzz for a step into acting, the Soul Siren said it  was a personal decision to inspire herself to become more healthy and fit.

"It's not actually a career move, at hindi rin siya nagce-create ng ingay, but this is a decision, a choice for myself. It'll inspire me in the near future na I worked hard for this talaga.

"Pinaghandaan ko talaga. Doble 'yung pagiging health-conscious ko, so I'm so proud of this project," she said.

In May, Nina announced that she will take her first step into the world of acting via a role in an upcoming stage play.

"Uumpisahan natin sa stage play. It's a big one. Sobrang nae-excite ako,” she said at the time.
