MANILA -- Considered one of the best steakhouses in New York, Wolfgang Steakhouse, which was founded by father and son Wolfgang and Peter Zweiner, has opened its first branch in the Philippines at Resorts World Manila.
The Zweiners partnered with local restaurateur Raymund Magdaluyo and celebrity entrepreneur Marvin Agustin to open the 14th Wolfgang Steakhouse in the world in Manila.
Sporting a New York vibe – with classic manly décor, high ceilings, a welcoming reception, mahogany bar, laminated wooden floor, mosaic tiles, and alabaster chandeliers, plus a wine cellar and a whiskey-cigar room, coupled with its topnotch well-trained service crew -- Wolfgang challenges other steakhouses in the metro, which has recently seen an explosion of expensive steak-centric restaurants, whether homegrown or brought in from abroad.
At Wolfgang, imported USDA Prime meat are kept fresh in a walk-in dry-aging chiller adjusted minimally above freezing level for about a month as it age. Dry-aging naturally lets the enzymes in the meat break down the inter-muscular tissues, making the beef melt-in-your-mouth tender and giving each cut its rich flavor.
Wolfgang’s signature steak is a steak lover’s dream come true. Order the sirloin and porterhouse rare and brace yourself for that meaty steak experience you’ve always wanted.
For sides, the creamed spinach and mashed potatoes are popular options. Other good choices are the German potatoes, which are sautéed and baked with butter and onions; as well as the perfectly thin-sliced and crispy fried onion rings dipped in the special tomato-based Wolfgang Steakhouse Old fashioned sauce with a hint of horseradish.
Enjoy this with your choice of drink -- pick from a wide selection of 1,200 wines, specialty cocktails and spirits like whisky.
Consistent with its global standards, Wolfgang at Resorts World carries all its best-sellers – from appetizers to the irresistible desserts.
Vegetarians and vegans are also given options, with choices of salads, soups, starches and vegetables. The New York Steak salad mixes different greens, white mushrooms and tomato, freshly sourced from organic agricultural farms.
A meal at Wolfgang isn't complete without a lavish dessert. Cheesecake headlines the dessert menu, along with the pecan pie.
Wolfgang carries the iconic "Junior's" cheesecake with its silky, creamy base and thin crust that's perfect in its simplicity. This has got to be the highlight of the entire celebration of good food, aside from having the best steak in town.
