LOOK: Tagaytay from Sky Eye's highest point
MANILA – Running out of places to visit during weekends? The recently opened Sky Ranch is enough reason for a quick trip back to Tagaytay -- and without hurting your vacation budget or leaves.
Located beside Taal Vista Hotel, Sky Ranch is the latest tourist stop in Tagaytay offering both dining and recreational activities for the barkada and families.
Horseback riding has become a fairly traditional activity when going to Tagaytay, which goes way back, even before the advent of malls and new hotels. Kids will definitely enjoy the Riding Loop, which boasts well-groomed horses and ponies.
After a few rounds in the track, they can head to the Sky Fun amusement park, which offers rides such as the Super Viking, Wonder Flight, Red Barron, Nessi Coaster, Mini Pirate Ship, Snail Shooter and various inflatables.
For more daring activities, the Sky Rider zipline and Sky Jump offers an adrenaline rush while taking in Tagaytay’s lovely ridge views.
But the highlight of a visit to Sky Ranch is a ride on the giant ferris wheel, the Sky Eye, which is currently the highest in the country. The Sky Eye ride lasts around 10 minutes -- or one complete round from the platform.
From inside the gondola, riders will be able to enjoy a majestic view of Taal Lake, the volcano and smalls islands in air-conditioned comfort and piped-in music.
The view from the top alone is already worth the ticket price of P150 per person.
The park is open from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. during weekdays, and 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. on weekends and holidays. Admission fee is P50 on weekdays, and P80 on weekends and holidays. For further details, visit their Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/SkyRanchTagaytay.
