Luneta among highest-rated parks in Asia: survey

MANILA - The Philippines' Rizal Park, also known as Luneta, is among the highest-rated parks in the region, according to a survey.

The survey, conducted by the hotel booking website, showed that Luneta placed eighth in a list of most rated parks in Asia.

Without citing figures, said the results of the survey are “based on customer feedback and analyzed booking information to present Asia’s highest rated parks and green spaces.”

Users of gave Luneta an average customer rating of 3.88 out of 5.

Topping the list is Hallasan National Park in South Korea with a score of 4.39 out of 5, followed by Taroko National Park in Taiwan (4.38), Osaka Castle Park in Japan (4.29), Halong Bay in Vietnam (4.23), Ang Thong National Marine Park (4.17) and Khao Yai National Park (4.12) in Thailand and Penang National Park in Malaysia (4).

Located near the walled city of Intramuros, Luneta is one of Manila’s most popular spots for locals to have a picnic, relax or exercise. The 140-acre space features a monument of Philippine hero Jose Rizal.
