MANILA – TV host Kris Aquino and comedian Vice Ganda were the last celebrities who joined the "chauffeur for a cause" project of motoring journalist James Deakin.
On Thursday's episode of Aquino's morning show, "Kris TV," Deakin shared the story behind his cause.
"You are the last , you are the lucky last," Deakin told Aquino.
Deakin has volunteered to be the chauffeur of a brand-new Maserati Quattroporte for generous individuals who are willing to donate money to a baby who needs heart surgery.
With the help of luxury car distributors Wellington and Marc Soong, Deakin is able to use the Maserati Quattroporte “as a taxi,” taking people from point A to B for around P20,000.
His first customer was actress Rhian Ramos, who asked Deakin to drive her to the One Fighting Championship at the Mall of Asia Arena last May 2 on the condition that he would be her date.
Aside from Ramos, other celebrities including Iza Calzado and Ryan Agoncillo also joined the cause.
Deakin was happy to share that they even doubled their target amount for baby Alessandra.
