MANILA - We all know that Filipinos can't get enough of Jollibee and its Chicken Joy and Yum Burgers, but do Americans share the same love for the iconic bee?
In a video uploaded on Monday, the staff of the social news and entertainment website BuzzFeed aimed to find out and tried what they described as the "world's most popular Filipino fast food restaurant."
"It tastes like a sandwich made by a divorced dad," quipped one taste tester, after trying the Little Big Bites -- a spam sandwich, which is one of the few items offered only in the U.S. and other countries.
"I'm weirdly okay with it. I'm surprised," added another, who earlier described the Little Big Bites as a sandwich with a "smear of moisturizer."
Among the other items on the menu that the BuzzFeed staff tried were the spicy Chicken Joy, the burger steak, and the halo-halo.
While one Buzzfeed staff member liked the burger steak with rice, another one noted its brownish-grayish color which they compared to colors that Brad Pitt would wear.
"How stoned are the Jollibee people when making this stuff up?" asked one staff member when showed the halo-halo, a famous Filipino dessert of mixed beans, chickpeas, nata, buko, shaved ice, flan, and ice cream.
"I've never had anything like this," admitted one laughing staff member. "Only in the Philippines."
