MANILA – Social media users were surprised and were even speechless upon hearing the news on Thursday that the Philippines' Fighting Congressman, Manny "Pacman" Pacquiao, is set to join the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) as a playing coach for expansion team Kia Motors.

"[I'll be] playing coach," Pacquiao told ABS-CBN's Dyan Castillejo, adding that he'll be taking the point guard position.

Twitter immediately exploded with reactions of netizens who are trying to imagine how Pacquiao will fit into the PBA.

Some social media users expressed mixed feelings of fear and excitement with the thought of Pacquiao bringing his boxing instincts to the hardcourt, especially when fouled.

Some are even anticipating a match-up between the Pacman and Alaska's Calvin Abueva who is known for his rough playing style that could sometimes get into someone's nerves.

While the thought of Pacquiao playing in the PBA could be fancy, a lot of social media users thought Pacquiao should just stick to boxing or just focus on his job as a lawmaker.

If everything goes as planned, Pacquiao will become the oldest rookie ever to enter the league. He will also be the first professional boxer ever to play in the PBA.

In his training camp for the Bradley fight, Pacquiao played basketball nightly to improve his stamina and footwork.

"Yung basketball kasi, isa kasi yan sa (may) malaking impact sa boxing, (para sa) footwork niya," his co-trainer and close friend Buboy Fernandez explained. "Short lang kasi ‘yung tinatakbo mo, tapos hihinto ka bigla."

With Pacquiao, a surefire boxing Hall-of-Famer, set to join a professional basketball league of the Philippines, many netizens also wonder if the Pacman is planning to join other sports too.

Or even the "Pinoy Big Brother" house?

How about the Mommy Dionisia Pacquiao as a PBA muse?

Meanwhile, Twitter user Nigga Raya said he doesn't mind Pacquiao joining every league or sport there is, but he has just one little request for the Pacman.
