MANILA, Philippines - Filipino art enthusiasts are in for a rare treat this month as the works of two National Artists are available for viewing at two different venues in Metro Manila.
A retrospective exhibit of the prints of Benedicto Cabrera, a.k.a. Bencab, National Artist for Visual Arts, will be held at the NCCA Gallery (633 General Luna Street, Intramuros, Manila) starting May 12.

The exhibit, dubbed "Bencab Graphics: A Print Retrospective", will feature etching prints showing the most iconic images in print making in the country, as well as recent prints produced using a combination of processes that challenge the definitions of the medium.
"This body of work, to date, has found the artist profoundly fulfilled," said the NCCA in a statement.
Curated by visual artist and art educator Jonathan Olazo, the Bencab exhibit will run until June 12, 2011.
The NCCA Gallery is open Mondays to Fridays, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. For details, call (632) 527-21-92 loc. 512, email firstname.lastname@example.org, or visit the website www.ncca.gov.ph.
Francisco "Bobby" Mañosa, meanwhile, graced the opening of his exhibit last April 26 at Museo Walo (23/F Tower 2 Insular Life Corporate Centre, Insular Life Drive, Filinvest Corporate City in Alabang, Muntinlupa City).
