MANILA - Miss Philippines Earth 2013 Angelee Delos Reyes admitted that she was "traumatized" after she and her boyfriend were victimized by riding-in-tandem suspects last February.
In an episode of "Red Alert" aired Friday, Delos Reyes recalled having dinner out with some friends in a restaurant in San Juan, when a man got off a motorcycle and approached her boyfriend, Yussef Esteves.
She then remembered feeling helpless and "stunned" after seeing that the suspect was armed.
"Baril 'yun eh.
Asked for any advice on how to deal with such incidents, the beauty queen said, "Unang-una kong maa-advise ay isipin nila 'yung buhay nila agad."
Rising number of victims
According to data from the Philippine National Police (PNP), over 3,500 were victimized by riding-in-tandem suspects in 2013. The data also showed that for the months of January and February this year, another 824 were robbed.
He warned against staying out late and advised to immediately call and report to the police should any untoward incident occur.
