MANILA, Philippines - Band vocalist JR Royol, the first grand winner of the reality cooking contest "MasterChef Pinoy Edition," is about to fulfill his dream of opening his own restaurant.

Royol, who made a guest appearance on the ABS-CBN morning talk show "Kris TV" on Tuesday, told host Kris Aquino that he is set to open a restaurant in Cavite, where he currently stays.

He said the restaurant, which has yet to be named, will be located in the city of Imus.

"Medyo nag-iisip pa po kami sa name. Pero right now, ang initial name na gagamitin namin is Kusina Miguela," Royol said, adding that he wants to use his winning dish in "MasterChef Pinoy Edition" in his restaurant.

The home cook was referring to his dish, Chicken Bigorot, which impressed the judges of "MasterChef Pinoy Edition" during the final round of the competition.

As the first grand winner in the local edition of the reality cooking show, Royol took home a P1-million cash prize, a culinary scholarship, and a kitchen showcase.

Last February, the Benguet native said he also dreams of having his own cookbook.
