Actress-host Kris Aquino
MANILA – Actress-host Kris Aquino went through four haircuts before she finally decided on her new pixie look, her hairstylist said.
In an interview with Philippine Daily Inquirer published Friday, Aureo Peña of Jing Monis Salon said he was surprised that Aquino asked that her hair be cut short.
He said his client usually goes for a trim.
“It took us four haircuts before she decided on her current style,” Peña said.
According to Peña, he started cutting Aquino’s hair at 10 a.m. at her home. He said that she was not satisfied after seeing that her hair was still below her shoulder.
The hairstylist finished with a chin-length bob and left Aquino’s house around noon, only to be called again at 1:30 p.m. at her location shoot in Makati City.
Aquino then showed him a photo of a Hollywood celebrity pixie haircut and asked him to copy it.
“It was very short, pero nagaya ko naman,” Peña said.
Aquino shocked television viewers last April 21 when she debuted her pixie cut during the live telecast of “Aquino & Abunda Tonight,” hinting that the change was over a “heartache.”
Before this, she posted an image on Instagram showing a quote from designer Coco Chanel: “A woman who cuts her hair is about to change her life.”
“I cut off more than a foot, so I’m super ready for my life change!” she said.
Aquino and Quezon City Mayor Herbert Bautista stopped dating before the Holy Week break, a source close to the city official earlier told ABS-CBN News.
The “split” came only a week after Aquino confirmed on live television that they were indeed dating, as rumored last March.
