MANILA – Rumors of a One Direction concert in Manila swept Twitter on Tuesday, with several Filipino Internet users expressing their excitement over seeing the popular boy band perform.
The hashtag #1DinManila remain in Twitter’s list of top local trending topics as Filipino fans react to a photo of the so-called ticket rates to the One Direction concert that has been circulating online.
The photo showed that the concert will allegedly be held at the SM Mall of Asia Arena, with tickets said to cost P5,000 to over P20,000 each.
A quick look at One Direction’s official website, however, shows that the Philippines -- and any other Asian country -- is not included in the band’s tour, at least until October 2014.
One Direction is set to perform in different parts of Europe in May and June, and in the United States from July to October.
SM Tickets has also yet to release rates for the concert should it push through in Manila.
Meanwhile, some fan groups of One Direction claim that the concert date will be announced on May 7.
