MANILA - President Benigno "Noynoy" Aquino III took a short break from his busy schedule as he attended the dinner party of his nephew, child actor James "Bimby" Yap Jr., on Sunday.
Bimby's mother, actress-host Kris Aquino, posted photos from her son's birthday dinner with her family and close friends.
One of the photos showed Bimby hugging the President.
"Bimb's Birthday Dinner (love, love, love)," the caption read.
Bimby, star of the hit film "My Little Bossings," turned 7 last Saturday.
The youngest son of Kris, the President's sister, had an early Minecraft-themed birthday party last April 8.
In a taped message aired on "Kris TV" after Bimby's early celebration, the President said he is trying his best to make his nephew's birthday wish come true.
The President acknowledged two of Bimby's wishes -- for the Philippines to be rich and for world peace.
"I heard that for your birthday you wished for world peace and for every Filipino to be rich. I want you to know that the vast majority of our countrymen who are older than your generation are trying very hard to make your wishes come true. We are working to make the country safer and to make sure that we will give the poor the help they need," he said.
"But you have to remember, when you grow up it is you and your generation who have the responsibility to make the Philippines an even greater country than it is now. I hope that when you do grow older you will be as kind as you are today and you will do your part in helping our country reach greater heights."
