MANILA – Here’s good news for those who want to study at the Land of the Rising Sun – the Japan Information and Culture Center (JICC) of the Embassy of Japan in the Philippines is giving scholarships to Filipino citizens.

JICC is accepting applications for the Research, Undergraduate and Specialized Training College Categories until May 26, 2014. Only hard copies that are mailed through courier or hand-delivered to the embassy will be accepted.

Those who will submit applications must also prepare for written exams and an interview.

According to the Embassy of Japan in the Philippines, about 100 Filipino scholars are sent to the East Asian country under different scholarship programs every year.

The Japanese government is reportedly making arrangements to make waive visas for tourists in the Philippines and other parts of Southeast Asia in an effort to attract more foreign visitors.
