MANILA, Philippines – Actress and “It’s Showtime” host Anne Curtis is the newest local celebrity to become the face of direct-selling beauty company Avon.

Curtis recently signed a contract as the newest endorser of Avon Color cosmetics’ Shine Attract Lipstick, with the company citing her “ability to shine in different aspects of her career.”

Avon described the product, which comes in 10 shades, as “a creamy color core wrapped in a hydrating, shine-infusing clear gel enriched with vitamin A, E and SPF 15.”

“I’m so happy to be endorsing this breakthrough lip product,” she said in a statement.

The actress-host now joins local and foreign celebrity endorsers of Avon, including Angel Locsin, Lea Salonga, Ruffa Gutierrez, Reese Witherspoon, and Fergie of The Black Eyed Peas.

Avon is currently among the top brands among Filipino teens, according to a study titled “The Teen Research Unlimited,” which was presented to the media late last month.

The direct-selling company joined local labels such as Bench and Jollibee, as well as competitor Natasha.

But in the United States, Avon has been declining in sales, facing heavy competition from drugstores and inadequate ordering systems as claimed by its sales representatives.
