Celebrity fitness trainers Jim and Toni Saret, also known as the training coaches of ABS-CBN reality program “The Biggest Loser,” are making a comeback with a new television show called "MetaBEATS".
The couple will bring their wellness advocacy to the next level with the fresh new show that will not only be educational but entertaining as well.
“MetaBEATS” is the first locally produced fitness and wellness nutrition show on Lifestyle Network (Skycable Channel 52).
“MetaBEATS actually stands for ‘metabolic fitness training’ that boosts your metabolism and beats is the music,” explained Coach Jim.
The show will feature a very unique exercise program of “four-minute burst” workouts aimed to cut weight, tone muscles and enhance physical endurance.
“The concept is four minutes lang... it's basically four minutes then after that you'll take a one-minute break, then we do another minutes,” explained Jim. “Kung kaya n’yo pa, do another four minutes. Total workout time is actually 16 minutes.”
“This is very original and hasn't been done even abroad and we have a feeling na mai-inspire even ‘yung mga foreign coaches, we're actually revolutionizing the fitness industry.”
Jim, founder of Athletic Performance Enhancement, and Toni, certified Zumba and Crossfit instructor and training coach for the Philippine Olympic Committee, designed the work out for people on the go and those who do not have access to gyms.
“Hindi naman lahat tayo may access sa gym, may access sa mamahaling membership... if you're bereft of extra budget for the gym, all you have to do is to use your lean-mean machine which is your body and an arm's length na space. That's all you need in four minutes,” said Coach Toni.
“The four minutes have become a very special template not just for the Biggest Loser show, even when we trained the national team it has been a very successful campaign.”
The show will also feature the preparation of the necessary dietary meal plan for the trainers to achieve optimal results.
Coach Toni said they will teach their viewers how to prepare healthy meals using ingredients readily available in the local market.
“Not everyone has access to organic stuff,” she explained. “And let's be realistic, we also eat meat, we eat chicken, hindi mo naman pwedeng sabihing no processed food kasi we're always on the go.”
The show is directed by Anton Dimaguila, the brother of Coach Toni.
“You’ll enjoy it and we’ve invested on the music track [to be used in the workouts]… So people at home will have the extra push to finish the routine,” said Dimaguila.
MetaBEATS will premiere at the Lifestyle network on April 16 with regular timeslots every Saturdays and Sundays, at 8 a.m. There will also be replays on Saturdays, Sundays at 4 p.m. and Tuesdays, Thursday, 5 a.m. and 7 a.m.
