MANILA – After six weeks of competition, Canada’s Royal Pyrotechnie was named the winner of the 5th Philippine International Pyromusical Competition.
The competition ran for six Saturdays from February 15 to March 22 at the SM Mall of Asia’s Seaside Boulevard.
Canada bested 9 other countries including China and United Kingdom, which won second and third place, respectively.
Host country Philippines, meanwhile, performed pyromusical routines during the competition’s opening and closing exhibitions.
The Royal Pyrotechnie is known as the most awarded fireworks company in Canada. It won the International des Feux Loto-Québec, a prestigious international pyrotechnic competition, three times.
The Royal Pyrotechnie began as a small firecracker store in Canada in 1966. After joining a pyrotechnic competition in Montreal in 1967, its founders have decided to expand the company.
