MANILA, Philippines – Several establishments are welcoming Easter Sunday with champagne, plenty of food, and children’s activities such as the traditional egg hunt.
Here are some of the Easter events in the metro’s hotels and malls. These are not endorsed by ABS-CBNnews.com.
An Easter Egg hunt will take place at the Quezon Ballroom of the Makati Shangri-La hotel this coming Sunday, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The rate is at P500+++ per head. The event will also feature games and activities for children.
Makati Shangri-La’s restaurants will also have Easter dining offers, from a lunch buffet at Circles Event Café or the Lobby Lounge at P1,800+++ to the utage buffet at Inagiku at P1,980+++.
Shang Palace, meanwhile, will have two set dinner menus during the Easter weekend of March 30 and 31 at P1,588+++ and P1,788+++. The menus feature dishes such as Hot Prawn Salad, Sauteed Scallops with Pine Nuts and Crispy Conpoy, Roasted Duck with Plum Sauce, Steamed Lapu-Lapu with Preserved Vegetable and Chili, Roasted Nam Yee Chicken, and a selection of the chef’s desserts.
The restaurant will also feature a “Dim Sum Plus” eat-all-you-can menu at P1,288+++, available from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Also on offer are a variety of sweet Easter treats such as animal-shaped chocolates, Easter “emoti-cakes” in cheesecake and chocolate flavors, and assorted pastries. All these are available at Sinfully Circles at Circles Event Café, the Easter booth at the main lobby, and Sinfully by Makati Shangri-La in Greenbelt 5.

Mandarin Oriental Manila
The MO Lounge of Mandarin Oriental Manila in Makati will serve as the starting point for the hotel’s Easter celebration on Sunday dubbed “The Easter Escape.” The event is limited to 60 participants only to allow children to spend the rest of the day on “creative sessions” such as egg painting and cookie and cupcake decorating.
An egg hunt, meanwhile, will be held at the Clipper Lounge, where children will be treated with chocolate.
Mandarin Oriental Manila’s Easter package includes a buffet lunch for two adults and one child at the hotel’s all-day dining restaurant Paseo Uno at P4,999 net. Guests will have to pay P1,500 for each additional child.
The fee for the activities without the buffet lunch is P1,999 per child.

The historic Manila Hotel will hold an Easter egg hunt this coming Sunday from 9 a.m. to 12 noon at the Centennial Hall. Aside from the egg hunt, the event includes activities such as balloon twisting, egg decorating, face painting and magic shows, as well as a kiddie brunch buffet. The rate is set at P800 per child and P1,000 per adult.

Sofitel Philippine Plaza
A buffet spread featuring turkey, gammon ham and Easter-inspired desserts will be offered to guests of Sofitel Philippine Plaza’s Spiral restaurant from March 29 to 31. The rate for dinner from March 29 to 31 is set at P2,750+++ for adults and P1,350+++ for children ages four to 11 years old.
The March 31 brunch, meanwhile, is priced at P2,950+++ for adults and P1,500+++ for children ages four to 11 years old.

The Peninsula Manila
A champagne brunch buffet will be held at The Lobby of The Peninsula Manila hotel in Makati on Easter Sunday, followed by an egg hunt for the kids at the Rigodon Ballroom.
Those who will have brunch at The Lobby (priced at P2,200++ per adult, P3,100++ with a glass of bubbly, and P1,100++ per child aged 12 and below) will get complimentary tickets for the kids to the Easter egg hunt with Humpty Dumpty.

Bonifacio High Street
A ventriloquist show is only one of the activities prepared by Bonifacio High Street in Taguig for its customers this coming Sunday.
“Flow Artist” and a “Hop to It” Easter egg hunt will also be available to customers who will spend P1,000 at the retail establishment on Sunday. The first 1,000 registered kids will be given a loot bag.

An “Easter Wonderland Royal Shindig” will be held at Eastwood City in Libis, Quezon City this coming Sunday, from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. The event is open to customers who will buy a “Wonderland passport” at the mall for P550 each, which includes loot bags.
“Royal Shindig” features 10 “landmarks” or booths, a costume contest, and an Easter parade.

Glorietta mall in Makati City has a lineup of activities for its customers this Easter Sunday at the Activity Center at Palm Drive. Some of these include sessions for Easter egg decorations, an Easter egg race, and giving away of loot bags, candies and other treats.

Power Plant Mall
Rockwell’s Power Plant Mall will hold its Easter celebration at the Rockwell Tent on Sunday, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Dubbed “Hoppy Hunt,” the event will feature an Easter egg hunt, and iPod nanos as prizes.
Tickets are available at the Power Plant Mall concierge and are priced at P550 for one child and one adult companion, and P200 for another adult companion.

A “Great Easter Eggspedition” will be held at Robinsons malls this Sunday at 12 noon. The event will feature an egg hunt and other Easter activities such as an egg guessing game, face painting, glitter tattoo, egg cookie decorating, and a coloring corner.
