MANILA, Philippines – Actress-model Solenn Heusaff makes her third appearance on the cover of men’s magazine Rogue.
For the magazine’s April issue, a seemingly nude Heusaff covers herself with a flowing sheet of chocolate-colored liquid chiffon that clings to her body, while holding a Magnum ice cream.
“It’s actually a fabric that looks like chocolate that we used,” the magazine’s senior designer Miguel Lugtu told ABS-CBNnews.com.
The cover was photographed by Marc Nicdao with styling by LA Consing Lopez. Paolo Maranan did Heussaf’s makeup, while Marc Baquiran did her hair.
Obviously a favorite at Rogue, Heusaff appeared on the magazine’s premiere issue in 2007 and again in 2009. Since then, the stunning model has become a TV and movie actress and even released an album.
The magazine’s April issue also offers a high-tech gimmick.
“A sneak peek of what's inside Rogue April. And I come to life on your phone! You’ll see,” Heusaff told her Twitter followers.
To see her “come to life,” users must first download Zappar for free from either iTunes or Android Marketplace. Find the Rogue icon, then aim your phone or tablet camera at the magazine cover.
Celebrities and the magazine’s fans heaped praises on Heusaff.
“SOS! You're so sexeeeeh,” actress-host Anne Curtis, another Rogue favorite, said on Twitter. “Grab a copy of Rogue April now on stands.”
“Solenn Heusaff’s Rogue cover for the third time is stunning,” Michael Robert Meras said on Twitter.
“I just loove the way they were able to make her dress look like a flowing layer of liquid chocolate (with all the creamy goodness inside!) The message may be very subtle... but the imagery is very powerful just the same! Yummy,” Les Lesaca wrote on Rogue’s Facebook page.
However, the appearance of Magnum Ice Cream on the cover received mixed reactions. Heusaff is one of the endorsers of the high-end ice cream brand.
“Sana lang next time, ‘wag samahan ng product endorsement sa cover. Sa loob na page na lang. Maganda kasi ‘pag wala ‘yung ice cream,” Myra Prudenciado wrote on Rogue’s Facebook page.
“This would've been a perfect cover if only she wasn't holding that ice cream,” Kristina Rita commented on Facebook.
Janice Brioso, however, disagreed. “Dat made it unique ...sexy lady holding ice cream,” she said on the magazine’s Facebook page.
