MANILA - It appears American rapper Macklemore is living up to the lyrics of his 2012 sleeper hit "Thrift Shop," as he was spotted shopping at the Greenhills Shopping Center on Tuesday.
Macklemore, who held a concert with Ryan Lewis at the Mall of Asia Arena last Sunday, was seen wearing a pink suit while apparently shopping for watches at the "tiangge" area of Greenhills.
Photos of Macklemore at the shopping center were posted on Tuesday afternoon by Philippines-based TV host Sam Oh on her Facebook page. The collage of photos quickly went viral, with 4,000 likes and over 1,200 shares, as of writing.
In the collage's caption, Oh shared that she was told off by one of Macklemore's entourage members for taking photos of the rapper.
Macklemore, whose duo with Lewis recently won 4 Grammy awards, is currently on an international concert tour. Their Manila concert was the most recent stop.
They are scheduled to perform in Hong Kong on March 20, to be followed by 12 more stops with the closing show to be held on September 19 in Las Vegas.
Aside from "Thrift Shop," a song about the value of saving money and disdain for extravagance in rapper culture, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis are behind the hits "Same Love" and "Can't Hold Us."
