MANILA – A music teacher has been getting a lot of buzz on YouTube lately for performing a metal cover of the popular song “Let It Go” from the Disney movie “Frozen.”

Eric “Erock” Calderone uploaded a video of himself using his guitar skills to perform a metal version of “Let It Go,” which won best original song in the recently concluded Academy Awards.

Calderone’s video titled “Let It Go (from Frozen) Meets Metal,” which was posted on YouTube on March 8, has over 1.7 million views as of writing, with 33,745 “likes.”

Internet users praised Calderone’s version of “Let It Go,” with some saying that this is their favorite rendition of the “Frozen” hit.

Calderone, who plays metal versions of various mainstream songs as demanded by his fans, said he has been receiving a lot of requests to cover “Let It Go.”

“So I haven’t seen this many requests to do a tune in my inbox since the ‘Call Me Maybe’ days haha,” he wrote in the video’s accompanying description, referring to Carly Rae Jepsen’s hit.
