MANILA -- Rachelle Ann Go and her fellow "champions" were reunited last Saturday at the singer's "send-off concert" at the Meralco Theater.
Go, who has been cast in the West End revival of the international hit musical "Miss Saigon" in London, is slated to leave this month to start rehearsals for for her first-ever international theater stint.
The concert was also mounted to celebrate Go's 10 years in the entertainment industry and as a musical memento for her fans and friends while she is away for a year.
Go, who won the TV reality talent search "Search For a Star" in 2004, was joined by her friends who were also products of singing contests, such as Sheryn Regis and Jimmy Marquez.
She also had a special number with Mark Bautista, Christian Bautista and Erik Santos, which included "More Today Than Yesterday," "Say Something," "Sometime Somewhere" and "What Kind of Fool Am I."

Santos also revealed that they each had courted Go at one point but it was only Christian Bautista who got her to say yes.
Also appearing in the concert was Go's personal idol, veteran singer Regine Velasquez.
Go recalled that she would usually sing Velasquez's hits when she was still competing in singing contests. The two singers did a medley of "Kung Maibabalik Ko Lang" and "Babalik Kang Muli."
Go also showcased her stunning voice by singing songs from the Broadway musicals "The Little Mermaid" and "Les Miserables."
She also performed "The Movie in My Mind," which will be her big number as the bar girl Gigi in the "Miss Saigon" revival.
