MANILA, Philippines – After ending its 10-day run at the Cultural Center of the Philippines Little Theater in Pasay City last January 27, the acclaimed original Filipino musical “Katy” will be restaged in July this year.
According to a report from The Philippine Star, “Katy” will be restaged from July 25 to August 4 at the Meralco Theater in Pasig City.
Based on the life of bodabil queen Katy dela Cruz who died in 2004, the play first had its run in 1989 with Mitch Valdes in the title role. The restaging last month was headlined by Isay Alvarez and directed by Nestor Torre, and produced by Spotlight Artists Center.
