MANILA – A by-invitation-only party held Monday marked the launch of Makati Shangri-La’s newest food and beverage concept.
Sage replaced two iconic Makati Shangri-La establishments, Red and Conway’s, which were closed late last year.
Guests during the launch party were greeted by an extensive array of tapas, champagne and craft cocktails at the ground floor, aptly called Sage Tapas Bar. The area is dotted by small seats and tables offering a garden view, with a stage set up for live performances.
A lighted staircase leads to Sage Restaurant at the second floor. The fine dining area can seat around 90 people, with a room for private meetings and a dedicated wine cellar.
At the helm of Sage is Chef de Cuisine Gilles Galli from France, who prepares modern European cuisine in a luxurious setting. Some of the items on the menu include Tuna Carpaccio and Duck Liver a la Plancha (P680), Edamame and Watercress Soup with King Crab (P350), Palawan Lobster with Morels (P1,680), Milk-fed Roasted Veal Chop (P1,980), Prime-cut Wagyu Cabassi Beef, a French cheese selection and a variety of desserts.
Sage Restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, while the tapas bar operates from 5 p.m. to 2 a.m. from Sunday to Thursday, and 5 p.m. to 3 a.m. from Friday to Saturday.
