MANILA – Some of the top hotels in Metro Manila are offering special promotions to celebrate Valentine’s Day.

Discovery Suites


Discovery Suites in Pasig City is asking Internet users to post a “hugging selfie” on its social media accounts to have a chance to win a Valentine dinner buffet at 22 Prime on February 16 and a pair of gift certificates from Superskin.

Participants have until 12 midnight on Thursday, February 13, to submit their entries. Winners will be announced at 12 noon the next day.

Discovery Suites is also offering a “Love Indulgence” room package from February 14 to 16, which includes a breakfast buffet and massage for two persons. Room rates start at P6,500++.

The Valentine buffet at 22 Prime, meanwhile, will be available from February 14 to 16 at 7 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., and is priced at P2,200++ per person inclusive of one flute of Chandon Brut.

EDSA Shangri-La Manila

EDSA Shangri-La is offering a “Weekend Love Affair” room package starting at P8,000++ for an overnight stay and P6,500++ per night for a minimum of two nights.

The package, which is good for weekend stays from February 14 to March 2, includes a buffet breakfast for two at HEAT restaurant, a bouquet of flowers, a box of pralines and a teddy bear.

EDSA Shangri-La’s restaurants also have Valentine packages for couples this month. The Italian restaurant Paparazzi, for instance, will offer a set dinner with a glass of wine and a chocolate éclair at P3,980++ per person on February 14.

The remodeled Lobby Lounge will serve a buffet of international favorites amid a serenade of love songs performed by Take Two and Hearts on Fire. The buffet rate is at P3,200++ per person.

The Japanese restaurant Senju, on the other hand, will have a six-course dinner feast by Chef Kiyoshi Ogawa from February 12 to 15.

To those who are looking for an evening of music and nostalgia, EDSA Shangri-La will feature the award-winning Stylistics in a special dinner concert. Tickets are at P5,000, P6,000 and P7,000, inclusive of a four-course dinner and a round of beverage.

Makati Shangri-La Manila

Makati Shangri-La Manila is offering a “Romantic Suite Rendezvous” room package on all weekends of February. The package includes an overnight stay at a Deluxe Suite, buffet breakfast for two at Circles Event Café, and access to the Horizon Club Lounge with afternoon tea and evening cocktails for two. Rates start at P9,888++ per night.

For those who are looking for some pampering, the hotel has a relaxing aromatherapy massage for couples using vanilla essence oil.

Makati Shangri-La Manila also sells Valentine treats such as Lychee and Rose Macarons, Spiced Berries Jam, Raspberry Marshmallows and Chocolates, all placed in elegantly designed hampers. Prices start at P1,000, with the hampers available at Sinfully Circles and Sinfully by Makati Shangri-La at Greenbelt 5.

Mandarin Oriental Manila

Couples may have a romantic afternoon high tea at the MO Lounge of Mandarin Oriental Manila in Makati from February 11 to 13. The high tea is priced at P1,600 nett for two persons.

From February 24 to March 2, Michelin-starred chef Richard Toix of the acclaimed Passions et Gourmandises restaurant in Saint-Benoit will showcase his creations at The Tivoli’s a la carte, business lunch and degustacion menus.

Marriott Hotel Manila

Marriott Hotel Manila in Pasay City has a variety of Valentine offerings for the month of hearts.

From February 13 to 15, Marriott Café will serve an array of food selections, a chocolate room and a glass of sparkling white wine. The rate is at P2,500 per person, with guests having the option of adding P825 for a French wine buffet.

Cru Steakhouse offers indulgent dishes such as Filet Mignon in French Herb Butter (P2,900) and Chocolate Maracaibo Mousse (P450).

For those who want to eat in bed, the hotel has desserts such as Sweet and Salty Chocolate Moist Cake (P400), Giant Red Velvet Cake (P400) and Plateau de Fromage (P625).

Sofitel Philippine Plaza


Dine under the stars in one of the five decorated canopies at the Sunset Bar of Sofitel Philippine Plaza in Pasay City. Meanwhile, Sofitel is also offering a 35% discount to Accor Advantage Plus members at its Spiral buffet restaurant from February 7 to 28. The rate is set at P1,650.06 nett, valued at P2,431.94 nett.

The Peninsula Manila

The Peninsula Manila is inviting couples to celebrate Valentine’s Day in style with their various offerings.

Sumptuous French wines and hors d’ oeuvres will be offered on Valentine’s Day at the Lobby at P1,900++ per person, while Spices will serve Asian delights from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m.

Guests can enjoy a romantic five-course Modern European menu at P4,750++ per person, inclusive of a glass of champagne, while a lavish buffet awaits at Escolta at P2,200++ per person or P3,100++ with a glass of champagne.

Salon de Ning, meanwhile, will hold a Valentine Single’s party from 7 p.m. to 2 a.m. on February 14. The event is also open to couples.
